Can Rosich (Santa Susanna): A farmhouse between the mountains and the sea in Maresme
Can Rosich is a farmhouse located in Alt Maresme, surrounded by Mediterranean forests and very close to the sea. Montserrat and Mateu, the owners, will show you the day-to-day life of a farmhouse with activities such as collecting fresh eggs from the chickens. Around the house you can go on excursions such as to the En Jordà mill, an old flour mill located on the Santa Susanna riverbed. The house is located in Montnegre i el Corredor park, an ideal natural place for family routes on mountain bikes and horseback.

Ca l’Estruch is located in Vallclara. This beautiful town house offers breakfast and dinner service, with quality local products. In its patio-garden, parents can relax while the little ones swim in the pool and on winter nights they can enjoy the warmth of a large fireplace.

If you would like to enjoy the surroundings of these rural houses, sign up for excursions on foot or on horseback through the impressive Protected Natural Area of the Muntanyes de Prades. Go on mountain bike routes to discover the gorges, the 30 natural springs of Prades or take a canoe or kayak through the Siurana wetlands. Also, take the opportunity to visit the Parc Astronòmic de Muntanyes de Prades and enjoy an observstion of the night sky, thanks to the darkness of the sky in this area and its low light pollution.

Mas Daudén (Campredó): the rural charm of stone
Rosana is the owner of Mas Daudén, a small agricultural and livestock farm that started with ten dairy cows and then expanded to breed bulls. Now converted into rural accommodation, it has a large fireplace and a kitchen that retains the heat of the large farmhouse kitchens. In the garden which is full of fruit trees, you can enjoy a good barbecue in a specially equipped space. In addition, it has a stone oven. The house is rented as a whole and does not offer dining service.

Also in the area is Maset de Castanyer, a small farmhouse located in Reguers that has an extensive garden with a children’s park, and the Sénia de Don Pedro in Horta de Sant Joan. This farmhouse has a large garden with a children’s play area and an orchard with different fruit trees, including apple, peach and pear, which you can help to pick, and a swimming pool where you can cool off in the summer.

All these options for rural accommodation are next to the Ports Natural Park, which is an ideal place to go hiking, climbing and canyoning. Walking around its surroundings, you are sure to see some goats, since here is the most important Hispanic goat reserve in the country. Another option is to travel the Green Way of the Terra Alta. This route is fun and easy for children as it is flat and goes through tunnels and viaducts.

If you would like to be closer to the coast, visit the Ebro Delta Natural Park. This protected natural space is the ideal place for family bike rides, surrounded by lagoons and rice fields. You can also discover virgin beaches and all kinds of birds, as it is one of the best places in Europe for bird watching.
