The most family-friendly wineries in Catalonia

Practising wine tourism with the family is much more than just learning about the wine and cava production process. In Catalonia, there are many wineries that welcome children on very special family visits, where they can experience the thrill of travelling in a carriage through the vineyards, searching for hidden treasures, riding a burricleta and discovering the magic that makes the grape juice into wine and cava.

Carriage and burricleta rides through the vineyards
On the Costa Daurada, Adernats – Vinícola de Nulles the DO Cava winery offers you the chance to enjoy wine tourism with the family and discover one of Catalonia’s wine cathedrals. You ride in a carriage with horses and enjoy a pleasant stroll among octogenarian vineyards and dry-stone borders. The tour finishes at the winery, a modernist masterpiece designed by Cèsar Martinell, a disciple of Gaudí. Inside, you will learn about its history and the winemaking process.

Another wonderful ride, in this case in a carriage with mules, is the proposal of the Oller del Mas winery, from the Pla de Bages DODuring the ride, you will have the opportunity to stop at two vineyard huts, where the farmers used to keep their tools, and the adults will enjoy a wine tasting, followed by an olive oil tasting and a family lunch on the same area.
