Is it possible to practise ornithology in the centre of Platja d’Aro? Yes, it is! At Els Estanys park, a natural space located in the heart of the town.
It occupies an area of 150,000 m² and has a large lake in the centre. Up to 250 different species of birds have been recorded, both those that live permanently in the area and those that stay there during their migrations.
Before or after a day at the beach, a lunch or a walk along the walkers’ path, the park is a fantastic addition to any day of activities. The whole family can take their first steps into the world of birds. It has several viewpoints to observe the birds that land there, as well as information panels and educational walks to go on with children.
Around the perimeter of the lake there is a dirt road for walking or cycling. Along the route you will find benches and a small picnic area for the children to have fun for a while.
Throughout the year, there are organised naturalistic visits and theatrical visits such as Magical Tales, during which your little ones can listen to stories about nature.
