Guided tour of Mas Miró

Add to my Wish List

Would you like to explore the landscapes that inspired the famous artist Joan Miró? Join a guided tour of Mas Miró and immerse yourself in his creative universe. Guided by a professional interpreter, you will discover all the hidden corners of the farmhouse where Joan Miró used to spend almost all the summers of his life and where he created all his work. The house, the wine cellar, the chapel, the workshop, the garden… A truly unique and emblematic space. In fact, this space has been kept intact, just as he left it in 1976.

During the tour you will learn anecdotes and interesting facts about Miró, such as how he used to carry a carob tree from his farmhouse in his pocket whenever he went on a trip. In this way, he kept a little piece of Mont-Roig close to him in his memory. Once you have visited the artist’s studio, surely you will find the spirit to make a painting with the elements that Miró found in the natural environment of Mont-roig.

So strong was Miró’s bond with Mont-roig del Camp that it became his own little creative universe. Its landscapes, such as the landscape of La Roca, were his tireless source of inspiration. In this beauty spot, on the top of a rock, is the hermitage of the Virgin of the Rock.

This structure always fascinated the artist thanks to its cubic shape and its original location, challenging the laws of balance. If you visit it, you will also enjoy spectacular views of the Camp de Tarragona.

Check the schedule of tours, and if you wish to organise a visit outside these hours, you can reserve it on the website. The groups must be of at least 10 people. The guided tour lasts 60 minutes.
