Family workshop at Mas Miró

Add to my Wish List

Before making a masterpiece, it is necessary to find inspiration, isn’t it? Well, that’s what you’ll need for the family workshop at Mas Miró in Mont-roig del Camp.

This incredible farmhouse, where the artist spent his family summers and where he found the perfect place to paint, will be the ideal environment to increase the creativity of the youngest children.

Before starting the creative process, an instructor will accompany them through the different areas of the farmhouse. In the garden, Joan Miró spent hours painting in the curious gazebo surrounded by lime trees. In his studio, which is exactly as he left it in 1976, you will see all his brushes, paints as well as his paintings to be finished.

Here, the instructor will explain where he slept, how he worked and how the artist got his inspiration. Along the way, the children will also see several of Miró’s works and the technique he used will be explained to them. You will go to a room where you will have all the material ready to make a collage or a painting and a box with the necessary material to create your compositions.

Joan Miró used to take a carob tree from the garden with him when he went on trips, so that he would have a very clear memory of the landscapes of Mont-roig del Camp, so as you stroll around the farmhouse, take a look at what you can use when you paint.

After the painting workshop, you can visit the places that Joan Miró liked the most. The Pixerota beach, where he used to swim when he was a child, and the hermitage of the Virgin of the Rock, which is located on a large rock and has a cubic shape. Joan was always fascinated by its shape and location. This is the main heroine of many of his paintings.

The activity lasts 90 minutes. So, are you ready to pick up your paintbrush and start creating?
