Visit and learn

A dramatized tour of the Pau Casals Museum in Vendrell

Add to my Wish List

If you are a family of music lovers, come to the Pau Casals Museum for a different and very entertaining visit.

Various characters related to the musician, such as Ramon, a fisherman from the Sant Salvador beach; Maria, the maid of Pau Casals, and Mr. Gaspar, his musician friend, accompany you on this journey through the life and work of one of the most important musical geniuses of the 20th century.

Through their experiences they will share anecdotes from the life and work of Casals. You will learn, for example, that there are two instruments that marked his life: the ‘little pumpkin’, a pumpkin converted into a cello that was his favourite toy as a child, and the shawm. This very characteristic wind instrument may resonate with you, as it is the protagonist of many popular festivals and sets the musical tone when the castells (human towers) are performed.

During the visit, you will walk around the summer house of the Casals family, in the maritime district of Sant Salvador, now converted into a modern museum, and, once inside, you will get to know its history.

You will tour spaces such as the music room, the gardens and the viewpoint that preserve the spirit of Casals. Weekends offer family and educational activities such as musical stories, food tours, baby workshops and concerts that will allow you to introduce your children to the art of music and culture.

The visit ends with a drink in the museum gardens. The activity lasts 1.5 hours. Advance booking is required.

After the visit to the museum, you can go for a walk around the town and visit the church where Casals played the organ as a child. You can then enjoy the beach and the promenade.
