Celebrate Picasso in Catalonia

8 April 2023 is the fiftieth anniversary of Picasso’s death. To mark it, the French and Spanish authorities have crafted a major international event: The Picasso Celebration 1973-2023. Forty exhibitions and a range of activities have been organised in connection with this event, mainly in Europe and North America.

Barcelona is hosting two major exhibitions: Picasso and Spanish ceramics, at the Barcelona Design Museum, and Miró–Picasso, a joint exhibition of the two artists who were friends throughout their lives, at the Barcelona Picasso Museum and the Joan Miró Foundation.

We’d like to invite you to celebrate Picasso, to enjoy his work. We also encourage you to discover the relationship between the artist and the city of Barcelona, Gósol (Berguedà) and Horta de Sant Joan (Terra Alta). We’ll additionally take you into Miró’s unique world through experiences hosted at the Mas Miró Foundation in Mont-roig del Camp.
