Aquatic thrills at the campsite
The summer holidays are here! Are you looking for a campsite with a water park so that your children can have even more fun? Catalonia has a great selection that includes slides and other water attractions, as well as entertainment clubs. This holiday, you will be immersed in amphitheatres and animals of the African savanna, and you will explore labyrinths and circuits of waterfalls and geysers.
Here is a selection of eight campsites with a water park. This summer, your children won’t want to get out of the water on the Costa Brava, Costa Barcelona, Costa Daurada and the Pyrenees of Catalonia! Ready to make a splash?
Slides and excitement on the Costa Brava
In Sant Pere Pescador, the Càmping Las Dunas Aquapark is there, ready for you to cool off. It’s a water park with five long slides which you can race down with friends. There is also a shallow children’s pool where the little ones can play – even if they don’t know how to swim – if they are accompanied by an adult. In the pool there is a type of hut that leads to the slides with a slight gradient which is adapted to young children. After all that excitement, you can relax in the pool with bubbles and fountains.
In the same town, there is the Càmping Àmfora where there are swimming pools at your disposal, whatever you fancy doing, whether swimming, relaxing or playing. Nearby is the slide area, with two covered slides and another one with an exciting final stretch! You’ll have to come and try it! The slides are open from 9am to 1pm
At Càmping Sènia Tucan in Lloret de Mar, fun in the water is guaranteed with their two large slides. There is a double lane, which is faster, and another which is a spiral, with a gentler descent. There is no minimum age to join in, but children must always be accompanied by their parents.
The youngest children also have their own play area in the 40-centimetre-deep children’s pool. Inside the pool there is a small playground with two slides. One of them is covered, like a mysterious tunnel where you can’t see anything until you reach the end. There are also various figures such as crocodiles and turtles, for children to climb on. Be careful because there are figures with buckets of water that can fall on you at any time!
Excitement at the pool on the Costa Barcelona
Sliding through a rainbow into the swimming pool sounds like fun, doesn’t it? At Càmping Vilanova Park in Vilanova i la Geltrú, the youngest children can do it in the pool designed just for them. Small colourful slides and figures such as magic toadstools with water curtains are all part of the entertainment. For the older ones there is the slide area, with one multi-lane and the other spiral, where you’ll spend the entire day racing each other down them!
African savannas and Roman amphitheatres on the Costa DoradaWith a large slide of 36 metres long, it’s well worth a holiday at Càmping La Pineda in Vila-seca-La Pineda Platja. Your little ones can also bathe and swim in peace in the children’s pool where there are playful ducks, baby elephants and seals to join them and keep them cool, as they include water sprays. So, getting wet will be much more fun!
In Salou you will find the Càmping Resort Sangulí where there are five swimming pools with different themes, so there is something for all the family. In the Happy Pool, there are two slides that intertwine to make jumping into the pool more exciting. In the Africa Pool, there is a covered slide that lets in the light. As well as this, inside the pool you will find the real kings of the African savannah, animals that love the water, such as elephants and hippos, as well as fountains and water games.
There is an enchanted tree with a waterfall flowing from it by the Relax Pool. This is the most open pool and is ideal for little ones. It also incorporates a children’s area with mini slides guarded by crocodiles. A Roman amphitheatre presides over the Fiesta Pool, with slides of all sizes. Finally, there is the Guli Pool. In this pool is the house of Guli, the campsite’s mascot, and there you’ll find it all: slides of various sizes and colours, both covered and uncovered, fountains, waterfalls and water games. The whole Guli family is waiting for you there!Colours are the protagonists of the aquatic area of the Càmping Capfun Miranda in Cambrils. Its multi-track slides look like the rainbow! Among them all, the Spacebowl is particularly special. When you reach the end of the slide, a big surprise awaits you: a huge cup, which you will spin around before ending up in the pool. You won’t be able to wait to jump in! The minimum height to access the slides is 1.20 m.
A water world in the Pyrenees of CataloniaFurther inland in Catalonia, there are also campsites like the one in Berga, where there is a huge aquatic adventure. At the Berga Resort there is a Splash Park where your little ones can keep cool while having fun. There is a whole circuit of waterfalls and geysers, and they’ll get to soak each other with the water pistols!
Two of the most popular attractions are the Splash pad, a giant bucket of water that falls on top of the children, and the water maze with gates and windmills. The Splash Park opens from 11am to 8pm. The giant slides are the biggest attraction: there are five of them and they are suitable for everyone and there is no height restriction.
The schedule is from 12pm to 2pm and from 4pm to 6pm. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The campsite also has a shallow children’s pool with a hut and small fountains for the little ones to enjoy a swim in peace.
