Grab your walking sticks and get outdoors! You’ll have the chance to discover the day-to-day routine of an ancestral and real-life profession: that of a shepherd. In the lands of Capafonts, a young couple decided to pay tribute to the work of shepherds by restoring their profession, which has a long tradition in the mountains of the Costa Daurada. This is why they organise this activity, for people to learn more about this fascinating work.
You will start the day with a guided excursion, which lasts a couple of hours, through Muntanyes de Prades. Among the places you will visit is the hermitage of Barrulles de Capafonts, where you can walk along the waters and rocks of the Brugent river. There you will stay for a while to recharge your batteries and enjoy a picnic in the middle of nature. Afterwards, you will get to meet the shepherds and their flock.
You will have the chance to listen to their story, learn about the day-to-day life of a shepherd, and you will go with them to herd the goats after going on a walk with them. Children will love being able to see them up close.
