Why not go on a family safari through the park? Yes, the park! Samà park is an exotic natural space in the middle of Cambrils. Your little ones will be able to see plant species from all over the world.

There are spindle trees from Japan, wisteria native to China, even a swamp cypress, native to the south-eastern United States, which you can see next to the bridge that overlooks the canal.

Samà park is a botanical and historical garden where you can walk, play, have a snack, run around and learn with the family. It is divided into a system of paths bordered by rows of trees and open spaces with relevant architectural elements. The two main centres of the park are the Marquesado Hall and the lake. To explore the park, you will need to buy tickets and you can expect to be there between two and three hours.

The park grows around what was the residence of Salvador Samà, Marquess of Marianao, an Indian who made his fortune in Cuba. When he returned to Catalonia, he wanted the island to remain very present in his life. He commissioned the architect Josep Fonserè i Mestres to design a house surrounded by gardens reminiscent of Cuba. The year was 1881.

The architect designed gardens that combine the Cuban natural landscape with romanticism. This artistic trend broke with the rigidity and structuring of the French garden and gave all the prominence to nature, as well as showing a taste for the wild and the exotic.
