Mas Garganta (La Pinya): A sustainable farm among the volcanoes of La Garrotxa
Mas Garganta is a farmhouse from the 14^th century, converted into rural accommodation, surrounded by the unique landscape of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. Mariana and her daughter Inés, the owners, offer a childcare service and half-board service with home-cooked meals made with fresh produce taken from the house’s garden and local fields. They have goats, rabbits and horses on the farm. Anyone who wants to can feed them or go collect fresh eggs from the hen house.

Here, children can learn firsthand about the sustainable habits of the farm, such as turning animal dung into compost to fertilise the garden and using a traditional bar of soap to wash their hands, and then the clothes. They also take advantage of leftover food to give to the animals, an activity that children love!

In Joanetes, there is Mas Rubió, a manor house with 6 rooms, which offers breakfast and dinner service. One of the spaces that will attract the children the most is its natural stone swimming pool, along with its rustic charm.

VALL DE CAMPRODON
Casa Etxalde, in Rocabruna, is a paradise for horse-loving families. It is surrounded by oak, ash and beech forests and even has a spring that surrounds the farmhouse, where you can cool off after riding a horse. The house also has a small lake with geese and ducks that you will no doubt visit often with your children!

Among the family activities to enjoy in the natural surroundings of these houses located in Vall d’en Bas-Les Preses and Vall de Camprodon is the Green Way of Carrilet which follows the old Olot-Girona railway line. You can also visit La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park and discover craters such as Croscat and Santa Margarida.
