Caramot the Dragon of Vendrell
Once upon a time there was a dragon that lived in some caves near El Vendrell. His name was Caramot. His mother, concerned that he was too small and quite shy, always paid him a lot of attention so that he would eat more and become very strong. The dragons of the region laughed at him because he didn’t know how to breathe fire from his mouth. He couldn’t scare the peasants either because he didn’t look scary enough. Little by little however, his mother’s perseverance paid off and Caramot became a big, powerful beast to the surprise of the entire region. At more than 20 metres long and 750 kilos in weight, he went from being a tiny dragon to becoming one of the largest fire beasts in Europe. You can see his proud-looking appearance at the Vendrell festa major and on other special occasions. His gigantic mouth which spits out fire will take your breath away!
