Peralada Castle Festival

Every summer in Peralada, dance and music take to the stage to bring a symphony of performances featuring classical music, opera, jazz, flamenco and gospel in the Peralada Castle Music Festival.

This cultural event has been run since 1987 and is one of the most important gatherings on the Costa Brava featuring world-class international performers. Set in outstanding natural surroundings, it is a unique cultural experience for summer evenings.

The open-air performances are spread over several venues: Carme Church, which connects with the castle, the hall and the auditorium in the gardens. The stunning 14th-century medieval castle is the most prominent building in Peralada’s historical ensemble. It was remodelled during the 19th century to give it a more French-like and Renaissance-style appearance. The complex also hosts a glass museum, a wine museum, a casino and the Peralada winery.

The festival takes place in July and August and is an ideal setting for modern music and contemporary dance concerts.
