Jazz takes center stage in Barcelona

The jazz scene is very lively in Barcelona thanks to festivals such as the Voll-Damm International Jazz Festival of Barcelona which this year is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The key to its success is combining performances by major stars of the genre with up and coming young performers to bring jazz to the widest possible audience and to promote emerging talent. Artists such as Cameron Graves are playing at this edition, performing his modal version of jazz that combines classical romantic music with styles as contrasting as death metal in order to create his unique sound.

But not everything hinges on performances; there are also parallel activities such a master classes conducted by famous figures, lectures, get-togethers with artists, etc. And for the second successive year, the Jazz and Food event will take place at the Moll de la Fusta, where music and cuisine come together. You can enjoy great live jazz and eat whatever takes your fancy at the  20 food trucks installed for the occasion, with Argentinian, Oriental, ecological cuisine and many others on offer.

Jazz at its purest, at the water’s edge, awaits you in Barcelona.
